AI receptionists for roofers, ranked on the week after a storm
GreetKeeper is our product, and it ranks first for a roofing contractor because it answers the calls that arrive together after a storm, captures the address and the damage, and books the inspection into the estimator's calendar, at $49 for 200 answered calls with the overage printed.
Roofing demand does not arrive evenly. A hailstorm sends a month of calls in nine days, and every one of them goes to whoever picks up first. A single line that rings busy hands the job to the next name on the list. GreetKeeper answers calls that arrive at the same time, so nobody queues while the first caller spells their street.
Rosie anchors the price at $49 for 250 minutes, and Dialzara starts lower at $29 for 60. Both meter minutes, and a storm-week caller who walks you around the roof takes six of them. Goodcall counts unique customers instead, which suits a shop where one homeowner rings back through the whole claim.
Smith.ai and PATLive put people on the line. Smith.ai's Pro plan is $150 for 75 to 300 calls, and PATLive prints every per-minute rate from $2.99 pay as you go. Either fits a contractor who wants a human voice on the phone during storm season and will pay for the minutes.
Overage is the roofing number. The plan you buy in a quiet March is not the plan a June storm needs, and Rosie is the one vendor on this page that does not print what the extra calls cost. GreetKeeper prints $0.45, $0.35 and $0.25 a call by tier, so the storm week is priced before it lands.
How this was put together
Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product. Compared in September 2026 on a storm week, by the team behind one of the entries; every rival figure was read on the vendor's own pricing page that month.
What we compared
- Whether calls that arrive together are answered, or queue behind one another.
- Whether the address and the damage are captured and confirmed, and the inspection booked, at the entry price.
- What a storm week costs once the allowance is gone, where the vendor publishes a rate at all.
- The billing unit, because a homeowner describing a roof takes minutes and a wrong number takes seconds.
- Where the lead lands: a summary and webhook your office can key into JobNimbus or AccuLynx, or a voicemail.
The shortlist at a glance
Billing unit first, because it decides more of the final bill than the headline price does.

GreetKeeper
Every storm-week call answered, address and damage captured, inspection booked, at $49.
Worth it for: A roofing contractor whose phone goes from quiet to nine days of nonstop calls after weather, and who wants every one answered and the inspection on the calendar with the address attached.
Charges per answered call. Entry plan $49/mo for 200 answered calls. After the allowance: $0.45 a call on Starter, published.
Goodcall
One unit per homeowner through the whole claim, with uncapped minutes.
Worth it for: A replacement shop where each homeowner rings several times between the inspection and the insurance adjuster, since a repeat caller counts once at $79 for 100 customers.
Not for: A contractor running a separate storm-response number, because pricing is per agent and each phone number is an agent.
Charges per unique caller. Entry plan Starter $79/mo ($66 annual) for 100 unique customers. After the allowance: $0.50 per additional unique customer, published.
Rosie
The $49 price anchor, metered by the minute with booking on the tier above.
Worth it for: A one-crew roofer who wants calls captured cheaply in the off season and will book inspections back by hand.
Not for: Storm season at the entry price. Appointment booking and live transfer sit on the $149 Scale tier, and the rate past 250 minutes is not published.
Charges per minute. Entry plan Professional $49/mo for 250 minutes. After the allowance: Not published.
Dialzara
The lowest entry price here, with an overage rate on every tier.
Worth it for: Trying an AI receptionist at $29 in a quiet month, with the per-minute rate from $0.48 down to $0.35 printed so the busy month can be modelled.
Not for: A storm week on the $29 plan. Sixty minutes is roughly ten roof conversations, and the next tier is $99 for 220 minutes.
Charges per minute. Entry plan Business Lite $29/mo for 60 minutes. After the allowance: Published on every tier, from $0.48 a minute down to $0.35.
Smith.ai
AI with a trained human team behind it, per call from $150.
Worth it for: A commercial roofing firm whose largest calls are property managers and adjusters, where a person on the line for the call that needs one is worth near $2.00 a call.
Not for: A residential shop pricing on volume. The Pro plan is $150 for 75 to 300 calls, and a storm week can clear the top of that band.
Charges per call. Entry plan Free tier at $0 for 25 calls, then $3.00 a call. After the allowance: Published, and the per-call rate falls as the tier rises.
PATLive
Live answering with the per-minute rate printed on every tier.
Worth it for: A contractor who wants a person answering during the storm rush and wants the bill predictable, since every tier from $99 for 50 minutes prints its rate.
Not for: A quiet-season budget. The $49 tier includes no minutes at $2.99 each, so thirty minutes of calls bills near $139.
Charges per minute. Entry plan $49/mo pay as you go with no minutes included, at $2.99 a minute; $99 for 50 minutes. After the allowance: Published on every tier: $2.99 a minute pay as you go, $2.29 on the $99 plan, $1.99 at $349, $1.79 at $759, down to $1.49 at $6,899 (re-read on patlive.com/pricing 2026-09-24).
How to choose for a roofing company
Price the storm week, not the average month. Count the calls a bad weather week produced last year and run them through each vendor's overage. Rosie and Goodcall meter differently, Dialzara prints a per-minute rate, and GreetKeeper prints a per-call one: $0.45 on Starter, $0.25 on Scale.
Then test the address. An inspection booked to the wrong street is a wasted truck roll. GreetKeeper reads the name, number, address and time back before it writes the event into Google Calendar or Outlook, and the estimator sees the address on the calendar entry.
Last, the lead record. Roof age, claim status and whether the homeowner has an adjuster appointment arrive in every GreetKeeper summary and webhook, ready for your office to key into JobNimbus or AccuLynx. After the call the homeowner receives one text with the inspection confirmation.
Our own pricing, in full
Including the rate after the allowance, which is the number most of this list leaves off.
| Plan | Monthly | Calls included | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time. | $49 | 200 | $0.45 per call |
| ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on. | $149 | 750 | $0.35 per call |
| ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours. | $349 | 2,000 | $0.25 per call |
The short version
- Booking is included on every tier. Rosie keeps booking and live transfer behind its $149 plan.
- The overage rate is on the pricing page. Rosie, Ruby, Slang and AnswerConnect do not publish theirs.
- Calls are counted, not minutes, so a long useful conversation costs the same as a short one.
Questions people ask about this list
Can an AI receptionist handle a storm surge of calls at once?
GreetKeeper answers calls that arrive together at the same time, so a hailstorm does not produce a busy tone. Each caller gets the greeting, the intake questions and a booked inspection, and every call arrives as a transcript and summary for the office.
Does it book the inspection with the address attached?
Yes. The assistant confirms the address, reads it back, and writes the inspection into Google Calendar or Outlook as an event the estimator can navigate to. Booking is on every GreetKeeper plan, including the $49 Starter.
What does a busy roofing month cost after the allowance?
On GreetKeeper, $0.45 a call on Starter, $0.35 on Professional and $0.25 on Scale, printed on the pricing page. Robocalls and calls it screens out do not count toward the plan, so storm-week spam never eats the allowance.
Why rank GreetKeeper first for roofers?
On the criteria above: calls answered together, the inspection booked at the entry price, and a published overage rate. Rosie's rate past 250 minutes is not published, and a roofer's whole year turns on a few weeks of extra calls.
