Florida is an all-party consent state, which surprises people
Miami owners often assume the Georgia rule applies. It does not. And if most of your calls arrive in Spanish, read the language answer below.
Caller
“The impact windows on the third floor did not seal properly and the storm is forecast for Tuesday. Can anyone get out before then?”
What happened next
- Logged an impact-window seal failure ahead of a forecast storm
- Marked urgent against the Tuesday forecast
- Booked Monday morning and flagged it for the owner overnight
Two things a Miami business has to plan for
The first is the storm cycle. A hurricane forecast turns a normal week into a queue: shutters, windows, roofing, generators and tree work all spike at once, in the days before landfall rather than after it. That surge is predictable in shape and impossible to staff for, which is the argument for a meter with a published rate.
The second is language, and here we have to be straight. A very large share of Miami's inbound calls arrive in Spanish, and GreetKeeper handles English at launch. We have not verified Spanish, so we are not claiming it. Dialzara includes English and Spanish handling today at $29 for its entry plan, and for a Spanish-first business that is the better answer right now.
Florida's recording rule catches people out too. It sits in the all-party consent group on every list we checked, unlike Georgia next door.
Eastern Time
Eastern time, with a large share of business conducted with Latin America rather than with the rest of the United States. That pulls the working day later in the evening for anyone dealing with callers several time zones south, well past when a front desk goes home.
The Miami call mix
Storm preparation, property and a large bilingual service economy.
Storm hardening and roofing
Shutters, impact glass and roof work that spikes on a forecast rather than on damage, with a hard deadline attached.
Property management and condos
Dense condo stock where a single building problem produces dozens of calls about the same fault.
Clinics and aesthetic practices
A competitive market where a new-patient call that reaches voicemail is a patient who books elsewhere the same day.
Recording and AI disclosure in Florida
Florida's position is stricter than its neighbors, and it catches out businesses that operate across the state line.
Florida is an all-party consent state, which surprises plenty of owners who assumed the rule matched the one next door in Georgia.
GreetKeeper can announce that a call is recorded and that the caller is speaking to an assistant. You write the wording, and you decide whether either notice plays. Our reading of the wider rules, with the dates, sits on the compliance page.
What it costs, including the part most vendors leave off
Booking is on every plan, and the rate after the allowance is published.
| Plan | Monthly | Calls included | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time. | $49 | 200 | $0.45 per call |
| ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on. | $149 | 750 | $0.35 per call |
| ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours. | $349 | 2,000 | $0.25 per call |
What we cannot tell you
Questions from Miami businesses
Can it take calls in Spanish?
Not at launch. English is what we handle and we will not publish a language list we have not verified. If most of your calls are in Spanish, Dialzara includes it today and is the honest recommendation.
Is Florida really all-party consent?
Yes, on every list we checked, which surprises owners who assumed it matched Georgia. If you keep audio, the caller needs to know.
What does a storm week cost?
Starter is $49 for 200 answered calls, then $0.45 each. Eight hundred calls in the week before landfall works out at $49 plus $270. We publish that rate; Rosie, Ruby and Slang do not publish theirs.
Can it handle a whole building calling about one fault?
It answers each caller and logs each call, so you see the pattern rather than a full voicemail box. What it will not do is know they are the same fault unless you have told it about the building.
