Squarespace Scheduling is Acuity underneath, and that shapes how the phone booking gets in
GreetKeeper posts a webhook, a paid Zapier plan catches it, and the Acuity app adds the client and can hold the time. It can't create the appointment, so a person does that.
Caller
“I booked through your website before but I can't find the link. Same thing again, the consultation, sometime Thursday?”
What happened next
- Matched the caller to your consultation appointment type
- Zap added the caller as a client on the Acuity side
- Thursday window held with a block, ready for your team to convert
How GreetKeeper connects to Squarespace Scheduling
Three states, and we publish the one that is true rather than the one that reads best.
| Tool | How it connects | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Squarespace Scheduling | Through Zapier |
What Squarespace Scheduling is
Squarespace Scheduling is the booking tool bundled with a Squarespace site. It grew out of Acuity, and the scheduling engine underneath is the same one.
That inheritance is practical, not trivia. Appointment types, client records, intake forms and the calendar view behave the way Acuity's do, and the Zapier actions you will use are the Acuity ones. Those actions add or update a client and block off time. None of them creates an appointment, which we confirmed in Zapier's directory in September 2026.
Where it differs is the front door. Your booking page is part of your Squarespace site, and your client sees Squarespace branding rather than a separate scheduling domain.
Where the booking lands
In your scheduling panel, as a client and a held slot. The appointment comes from your team.
GreetKeeper takes the details on the call and stores them. Nothing about that step depends on Zapier working.
The Zap then adds the caller as a client, with the name, email and phone they gave. A second step can block off the time they asked for, so a website visitor can't take it in the meantime.
From there a person finishes the job. They replace the block with a real appointment on the right type, and the confirmation goes out with your Squarespace branding on it, the same as a website booking.
Connecting it
Find your Acuity-side credentials first. That is the step people get stuck on.
Open your scheduling panel from inside Squarespace
Scheduling lives under your Squarespace account. You will need it open to read your calendar and appointment type names exactly as they are written, because Zapier will ask you to pick a calendar.
Connect the account in Zapier
Zapier connects to the Acuity side of the product. If the connection screen asks for an Acuity login and you only have a Squarespace one, use the scheduling panel's own integrations page to find the credentials it expects.
Build the Zap for one appointment type
Catch Hook from Webhooks by Zapier comes first, fed by the hook address you paste into GreetKeeper. Then comes Add or Update Client, then Add Blocked Off Time. Map name, email and phone, and drop the caller's own words into the block's note. Your team should be able to read why someone rang.
Test with a real call before your line changes
Book yourself in by phone. Check that the client exists and the block shows on the correct calendar. Convert it to an appointment, check the confirmation email, then delete it.
What this connection does not do
Questions about Squarespace Scheduling and GreetKeeper
Is this different from the Acuity integration?
The engine is the same, so the Zap looks nearly identical. The difference is where you log in and how the account connects in Zapier. If you manage bookings from inside Squarespace, follow this page rather than the Acuity one.
Will phone bookings show on my website's booking page?
The held time will block the slot, because the block sits in the same calendar your booking page reads. A website visitor won't be offered that time once the Zap has run.
What if the appointment type requires a deposit?
No payment is collected on the call. Your team takes the deposit when they turn the held time into an appointment. Some businesses only let GreetKeeper hold the free consultation type and transfer everything else.
Is there a GreetKeeper app to select inside Zapier?
Not yet. You start the Zap with Webhooks by Zapier instead, which Zapier only offers on paid plans. GreetKeeper posts the booking to that hook, and the Acuity steps take it from there.
