Nextiva call flows can forward to GreetKeeper
Call forwarding to an external number already exists in your Nextiva account. Nothing flows back into Nextiva from GreetKeeper.
Caller
“Your office doesn't open till nine, does it? I'm trying to reschedule an appointment for my mother. She's booked Thursday.”
What happened next
- Patient name, existing appointment day and caller relationship captured
- Told a person would confirm the change, with no reschedule promised
- Summary emailed to the practice manager before the office opened
How GreetKeeper connects to Nextiva
Three states, and we publish the one that is true rather than the one that reads best.
| Tool | How it connects | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Nextiva | Not yet |
What Nextiva is in this setup
Nextiva sells business phone service alongside its own contact and customer tools. Admins configure users, call groups and auto attendants from the NextivaONE admin area.
Call flows decide where a call goes. Each one steps through destinations, with a different path for after hours and holidays.
External numbers are valid destinations at almost every step. That is what lets a Nextiva call flow end at GreetKeeper instead of a voicemail box.
Where the call record lands
Nextiva keeps the call in its own reporting. Everything the caller said is in GreetKeeper, and does not cross back.
Nextiva's call history records the inbound call and the external leg. It will not contain the transcript, the summary or the caller's stated reason.
GreetKeeper delivers that record by email or webhook. Offices with a shared admin inbox tend to use email, because the person on the desk reads it first thing.
Appointments write into a connected Google Calendar or Outlook. Nextiva's own contact records stay untouched by GreetKeeper.
Forwarding from Nextiva
Admin area, and the after-hours path first. That is the change nobody notices going wrong.
Find the call flow your main number uses
In the Nextiva admin area, open the call flow attached to your main business number. You'll see the routing steps laid out in order.
Locate the after-hours or no-answer step
That step normally ends at voicemail or an announcement. This is the step you are replacing, so nothing about daytime routing changes.
Set the destination to your GreetKeeper number
Choose forward to an external number and enter the GreetKeeper number in full. Save the flow and let it publish.
Ring the main number after hours
Call it from a mobile once the office is closed. GreetKeeper answers, and the summary should be in the inbox you nominated within a couple of minutes.
What this connection does not do
Questions about Nextiva and GreetKeeper
Can I forward one auto attendant option instead of the whole flow?
Yes. Point a single menu option at your GreetKeeper number. Callers choosing that option get answered, and everything else routes as before.
Does the call show in Nextiva analytics?
The inbound call and the forward do. The conversation, the transcript and the summary belong to GreetKeeper.
Will my team's voicemail still work?
Yes, on any step you leave alone. Only the steps you repoint at GreetKeeper stop sending callers to voicemail.
Repoint one after-hours step
It is reversible in the same screen. Two minutes, no card.
