What Google Voice is in this setup
Google Voice gives you a phone number attached to a Google account. The personal version is free in the US. The business version comes with Google Workspace and is managed by an admin.
Calls to your Google Voice number ring wherever you tell them to. Linked numbers and forwarding settings control that, and you can set them per device.
Add your GreetKeeper number as a forwarding destination and Google Voice rings it. Personal accounts handle this more easily than Workspace accounts do.
Where the call record lands
Google Voice does its own voicemail transcription. GreetKeeper's record is separate, and nothing merges the two.
Your Google Voice history shows the call and the forward. Google's voicemail transcription applies only to voicemail Google took, not to a call GreetKeeper answered.
GreetKeeper sends you the transcript and the summary by email. Sole proprietors tend to read it on the phone between jobs, which is the point.
A booking goes into your connected Google Calendar. That is the same Google account in most cases, but the two products are not linked by Google. GreetKeeper writes the calendar event directly.

Check which Google Voice you have
A free personal number, or Google Voice through Workspace. The Workspace version is admin-controlled and may block external forwarding entirely.
Open call forwarding settings
Sign in at the Google Voice website, open Settings, then Calls. Linked numbers and forwarding options live there.
Add your GreetKeeper number
Enter it as a forwarding destination. Google may ask you to verify the number with a code, which is the step that fails most often on Voice.
Call your Google Voice number
From another phone. Confirm GreetKeeper answers rather than Google's voicemail, and read the transcript when it arrives.

Does this work on a free Google Voice number?
Usually yes, using the forwarding settings on the Voice website. The number verification step is where it most often stalls.
Is Google Voice forwarding the same as the Google Calendar integration?
No. Calendar is a direct write from GreetKeeper into your calendar. Google Voice is just a phone number forwarding a call, with no data connection.
What about Google Voice voicemail transcription?
It keeps working for calls Google takes to voicemail. A call GreetKeeper answers never reaches that voicemail, so GreetKeeper transcribes it instead.
