What Grasshopper is in this setup
Grasshopper is a virtual phone system for small businesses and solo operators. It gives you a business number and a set of extensions without any handsets.
It has no desk phones of its own. Every extension forwards to a real phone you already carry, which is exactly how it is meant to work.
So the setup here is normal Grasshopper usage. Instead of forwarding an extension to your mobile, you forward it to your GreetKeeper number.
Where the call record lands
Grasshopper's own log shows the call arriving and leaving. Nothing about the conversation gets written back into it.
Your Grasshopper call history records the inbound call and the forward. Voicemails you already have stay where they are. New forwarded calls end up in GreetKeeper instead.
GreetKeeper emails you the transcript and the summary. For a small business that usually goes to the owner's phone, and it reads in about fifteen seconds.
If the caller wanted a time, GreetKeeper books it into a connected Google Calendar. That is the one place outside GreetKeeper that a call ever writes to.
Forwarding a Grasshopper extension
This is the simplest setup on this page. Two screens.
Pick the extension callers reach
Most Grasshopper accounts have a main extension and maybe one or two more. Pick the one your customers actually get through to.
Open call forwarding for that extension
In your Grasshopper account, open Settings, then Extensions, then the extension. You'll see the list of phone numbers it forwards to.
Add the GreetKeeper number
Enter your GreetKeeper number as a forwarding destination. If your mobile is already listed, decide whether GreetKeeper rings after it or instead of it.
Ring your business number
Use a friend's phone, not the one in the forwarding list. Talk to GreetKeeper the way a customer would, then check the email that arrives.

Can I keep my mobile in the forwarding list?
Yes. Order them so your mobile rings first and GreetKeeper picks up after. That way you take the calls you can and lose none of the rest.
Does my Grasshopper voicemail still work?
Your existing voicemail stays. Calls that reach GreetKeeper never get that far, so those callers get a conversation instead of a beep.
I only have one extension. Is that enough?
It is. One extension forwarding to GreetKeeper covers every caller who dials your business number.
