The best AI receptionists for gyms and fitness studios

GreetKeeper is our product, and it ranks first for gyms and studios on the method below. It books the tour or trial class while the prospect is still on the phone. It also answers membership questions from your own price list, on every plan from $49 for 200 calls.

Your phone rings hardest at 6am and 6pm, exactly when your front desk is checking members in and your coaches are on the floor. Many of those callers are prospects asking about memberships. One sent to voicemail may have joined somewhere else by the time you ring back.

Goodcall counts unique customers at $79 for 100, which suits members who ring often. Rosie starts at $49 for 250 minutes with booking on its $149 plan, and Dialzara at $29 for 60 minutes.

Smith.ai adds a human team behind its AI from $150 for Pro. Posh staffs human receptionists from $65 with every minute billed at $2.30.

How this was put together

Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product. We compared six vendors in September 2026 for independent gyms, boutique studios and small fitness chains. Each rival's figures were read on its own pricing page that month.

What we compared

  • Whether a tour, trial class or intro session can be booked during the call.
  • Whether the assistant answers membership and price questions from your own list.
  • Whether calls at the 6am and 6pm peaks are all answered at once.
  • What a month of prospect and member calls costs on the published plans.

The shortlist at a glance

Billing unit first, because it decides more of the final bill than the headline price does.

GreetKeeper

Books the tour or trial class and answers membership questions, from $49.

Worth it for: A gym or studio whose front desk is swamped at class times, and who wants every prospect who calls booked for a visit.

Charges per answered call. Entry plan $49/mo for 200 answered calls. After the allowance: $0.45 a call on Starter, published.

Goodcall

One unit per customer, however many calls they make.

Worth it for: A studio whose members phone often about schedules and holds, since each repeat caller counts once at $79 for 100 unique customers.

Rosie

The $49 anchor, with booking on the $149 plan.

Dialzara

A $29 entry, metered by the minute.

Charges per minute. Entry plan Business Lite $29/mo for 60 minutes. After the allowance: Published on every tier, from $0.48 a minute down to $0.35.

Smith.ai

AI calls, with trained people behind them.

Charges per call. Entry plan Free tier at $0 for 25 calls, then $3.00 a call. After the allowance: Published, and the per-call rate falls as the tier rises.

Posh

Human receptionists, billed from the first minute.

Worth it for: A boutique studio with few calls that wants a person on the line, from $65 at $2.30 a minute.

Not for: Steady daily calls, since the Chïc plan includes zero minutes.

How a gym or studio should choose

Look at when your calls land. If most come in the hour around your first and last classes, you need every call answered at once. GreetKeeper answers calls that arrive together at the same time, so the fourth prospect at 6pm gets the same answer as the first.

Next, decide what the call should end with. For a prospect that's a booked tour or trial class. GreetKeeper books it into Google Calendar or Outlook and reads the details back. After the call the prospect gets one text with the booking confirmation.

Then handle the member calls. Freezes, billing questions and cancellations belong with your manager. Write a transfer rule for them, and GreetKeeper puts those callers through or texts the manager their details.

Our own pricing, in full

Including the rate after the allowance, which is the number most of this list leaves off.

PlanMonthlyCalls includedAfter that
StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time.$49200$0.45 per call
ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on.$149750$0.35 per call
ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours.$3492,000$0.25 per call

The short version

  • Booking is included on every tier. Rosie keeps booking and live transfer behind its $149 plan.
  • The overage rate is on the pricing page. Rosie, Ruby, Slang and AnswerConnect do not publish theirs.
  • Calls are counted, not minutes, so a long useful conversation costs the same as a short one.

Questions people ask about this list

Can an AI receptionist book a trial class or gym tour?

Will it answer questions about membership prices?

It answers the questions you train it on, including your membership tiers, class packs and opening hours. Point GreetKeeper at your website for a first draft, then correct anything that's out of date.

Can one account cover several gym locations?
