GreetKeeper vs Abby Connect

Abby Connect invented the cleverest unit in this market. One Abby Minute buys one minute of a human receptionist or two minutes of AI handling, so you can move calls between people and software without renegotiating anything. It's elegant. It also means you're still buying receptionist time, and that's what this page is about.

Why people move off Abby Connect

One vendor's specific wall, not a general complaint about the category.

The exchange rate stops being a bargain once you stop using the human half. If the AI handles nine calls in ten, you're buying a currency designed to be spent on receptionists and spending it on software instead. The entry bundle is also small: 50 Abby Minutes is 100 minutes of AI, which is under two minutes of AI handling per working hour. And the overage rate isn't published, so the month you outgrow the bundle prices itself.

Where we differ

The right-hand column is the honest one. A comparison that finds no fault with itself is worth nothing.

What GreetKeeper does differently

  • Their entry plan is $165 for 50 Abby Minutes. Ours is $49 for 200 answered calls.
  • We do not employ receptionists, so a call we cannot handle goes to your team, not ours.

What you give up leaving Abby Connect

  • The cleanest pricing mechanic in the category: one currency spans human and AI, so changing the mix never changes the plan.
  • US-based human receptionists when a call needs one.
  • Switching a call type from AI to human is a setting rather than a migration.

What a busy month costs on each meter

The headline price tells you about a quiet month. This is the other one.

Abby Connect publishes $165 for 50 Abby Minutes, $329 for 100, $599 for 200 and $1,380 for 500, and doubles the allowance on AI-handled calls. At the Essential tier that's 200 AI minutes for $329, or roughly 65 three-minute calls. What happens past the bundle isn't published. Ours is $49 for 200 answered calls, $149 for 750, $349 for 2,000, with the rate after each allowance printed on the page. Their currency is deliberately flexible. Ours is deliberately boring.

Moving off Abby Connect in practice

The technical part is a forwarding change. The rest is the part nobody warns you about.

Abby's receptionists are trained on your escalation rules, so before you move, get those rules out of their heads and onto paper. Which call types were meant to reach a person? What were the receptionists allowed to promise a caller? Which calls got put straight through to you? Write that down, because it's the configuration you'll be rebuilding, and it's the part that took Abby's team weeks to learn.

What we cannot show you

Questions people ask about this comparison

What exactly is an Abby Minute?

Their own unit. One Abby Minute is one minute with a human receptionist, or two minutes handled by their AI, so $165 for 50 buys you either 50 human minutes or 100 AI ones. We count answered calls instead, so you have no conversion to track.

If their AI handles most of my calls, which of you is cheaper?

Ours, usually. Abby's Starter tier gives you 100 AI minutes for $165, which is roughly 33 three-minute calls. Our Starter is 200 answered calls for $49, whatever length they run. The gap only closes if a meaningful share of your calls needs a person.

Can you send an unhandled call to a receptionist?

No. When our assistant can't answer, it transfers to your team or takes the caller's name, number and reason for calling. Abby Connect can route that call to one of their own receptionists. We have no receptionists, so the handoff needs somebody on your side to receive it.
