Posh vs Ruby virtual receptionists

Posh and Ruby both sell live virtual receptionists by the minute, and both publish their plans. Posh prints seven tiers, from Chïc at $65 with no minutes included up to Exclusive at $1,900 for 1,000, with a per-minute rate on each. Ruby prints four, from $250 for 50 minutes to $1,725 for 500, and leaves the rate for extra minutes off the page.

At the sizes both sell, Posh's printed price is the lower one: 50 minutes is $130 against $250, and 500 is $975 against $1,725. Ruby answers with a promise in writing. It says there are no additional or hidden fees for activation, onboarding, setup, customization, or coverage during certain periods, and every plan gets the same features.

Posh suits a business that wants small steps between plans, a printed rate for every minute and a trial it can start without a card. Ruby suits a business that wants a fixed feature list, a no-fee promise and live chat from the same vendor. Both pages were read in September 2026.

Posh's seven tiers, step by step

Posh names its plans like a fashion line. Chïc is $65 a month with no minutes included, so every minute bills at $2.30. Vogue is $130 for 50 minutes, Elegant $215 for 100 and Luxurious $420 for 200.

Above that sit Prestigious at $700 for 350 minutes, Lavish at $975 for 500 and Exclusive at $1,900 for 1,000. The per-minute rate falls as you climb, from $2.30 at the bottom to $1.90 at the top.

Seven steps mean you can match a plan to your real usage closely. The price of that is arithmetic: near the edge of a tier, check whether the next plan up costs less than the overage on the one you're on.

Ruby's four plans and the rate it leaves off

Ruby sells 50 minutes for $250, 100 for $395, 200 for $720 and 500 for $1,725. Larger volumes are quoted. Its page states that the only difference between plans is the number of receptionist minutes and chats.

So every Ruby plan gets 24/7 live answering, bilingual service, call transcripts, scheduling and payment collection, and a local or toll-free number. Live chat has its own plans, and you can bundle it with receptionist minutes.

The rate for a minute past your bundle sits outside the pricing page, so ask Ruby for it in writing before you choose a size. A written figure lets you price your busiest month as well as your average one.

What every Posh plan includes

Posh lists the same core features across its tiers. You get 24/7 call handling, English and Spanish service, appointment scheduling and message management, voicemail with transcription, and software integrations. There's a mobile app and an online portal, with unlimited users.

Posh bills on a true monthly cycle rather than a 28-day one, and runs on month-to-month agreements. It says a new account is typically set up within 24 to 48 hours.

The trial is generous for a staffed service. You get seven days or 250 receptionist minutes, whichever comes first, and no credit card is needed.

Picking a size on each card

Pull three months of call logs and total the minutes. Suppose you average 160 a month, with a peak of 230.

On Posh, 160 minutes sits between Elegant at 100 and Luxurious at 200. At $420, Luxurious covers the average, and its printed rate prices the peak. On Ruby, the 200-minute plan at $720 covers the average, and the peak needs the overage figure you'll have to request.

Both answer a number you forward to them. The forwarding mode and ring delay are set at your carrier or phone system, so you can try either on after-hours calls before moving your main line.

Where GreetKeeper fits

Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product, and it appears only here. It's an AI receptionist with three plans rather than seven or four, each counted in answered calls rather than minutes.

Starter is $49 a month for 200 calls, Professional is $149 for 750 and Scale is $349 for 2,000. Extra calls cost $0.45, $0.35 or $0.25. Call length doesn't change the count, and screened spam calls never touch the allowance.

Booking into Google Calendar or Outlook comes with every plan. Calls that arrive together are answered at the same time, so nobody queues. After each call you get a transcript and a short summary, and the caller gets one text with the booking link or confirmation.

A dedicated local number is included, there's no setup fee, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, all features on, with no card.

StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time.$49200$0.45 per call
ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on.$149750$0.35 per call
ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours.$3492,000$0.25 per call

Questions people ask about this comparison

Is Posh cheaper than Ruby?

At every minute count both publish, Posh's printed price is lower. Fifty minutes is $130 at Posh and $250 at Ruby, and 500 minutes is $975 against $1,725 (September 2026). Posh also prints its rate for extra minutes, and Ruby's pricing page doesn't.

What is Posh's Chïc plan?

Chïc is Posh's entry plan: $65 a month with no minutes included, so every minute bills at $2.30. It fits a phone that rarely rings. Once you use more than a few dozen minutes, the $130 Vogue plan with 50 minutes costs less.

Does Posh offer a free trial?

Yes. Posh's trial runs seven days or 250 receptionist minutes, whichever comes first, and it needs no credit card (September 2026). Plans after the trial are month to month.

Does Ruby charge setup fees?

No. Ruby's pricing page says there are no additional or hidden fees for activation, onboarding, setup, customization, or coverage during certain periods (September 2026).
