PATLive pricing, explained
PATLive publishes more of its pricing than almost anyone else in this market, and it deserves credit for that before any comparison starts. Eleven live-answering tiers are on their pricing page with the per-minute overage printed on every one, alongside separate rate cards for web chat and outbound calls.
Live answering starts at $49 a month pay-as-you-go with no minutes included and $2.99 for each one used. The bundles run $99 for 50 minutes, $189 for 100, $349 for 200, $479 for 300, $759 for 500, $1,499 for 1,000, $2,899 for 2,000, and on up to $6,899 for 5,000. The overage rate falls as you climb, from $2.29 to $1.49.

How the PATLive bill behaves
- Your unit price improves steadily with volume: $2.29 a minute at the bottom, $1.49 at the top. That's a genuine discount and they publish it.
- Their pay-as-you-go tier is the trap at the low end. $49 for zero minutes at $2.99 each means 30 minutes of your calls costs $138.70.
- The jumps between tiers are large. $759 to $1,499 takes you from 500 minutes to 1,000, so at 600 you either overpay or hand over $1.79 a minute for the extra 100.
- Chat and outbound are separate subscriptions you buy on top, not add-ons to your minute bundle.
- Everything is still a minute, so how long your conversations run is the variable doing the work.
Worked example
A property management firm takes 200 calls a month, averaging three and a half minutes because tenants describe problems. That's 700 minutes.
PATLive's $759 plan covers 500 minutes, then 200 more at $1.79. $759 + $358 = $1,117.
Stepping up to the $1,499 plan covers all 700 with 300 spare. $1,499.
So on PATLive's own card, staying low and paying overage saves this firm $382 a month.

PATLive's tiers sit far enough apart that choosing between two of theirs matters more than you'd expect. Because they publish the overage, you can do this sum before you sign rather than after. You can't do it at Ruby, Rosie or Abby Connect.
Where our own price sits
Our plans are $49 for 200 answered calls, $149 for 750 and $349 for 2,000, with $0.45, $0.35 and $0.25 after. We count calls, PATLive counts minutes, and that's the comparison.
Where PATLive genuinely wins: a trained person answers, on every call, at any hour. If a caller says something your script never anticipated, their receptionist improvises and our assistant transfers to your team or takes a message. That's what the price difference buys, and it is not nothing.

Their pricing page doesn't list one, and we won't tell you either way beyond what the page says. Ask them directly and get your answer in writing alongside the rounding rule, which their page also leaves out.
