Rosie vs Upfirst AI receptionist

Rosie and Upfirst are AI receptionists for small businesses, and they meter the phone differently. Rosie sells minutes: $49 a month for 250, $149 for 1,000 and $299 for 2,000. Upfirst sells calls: $24.95 for 30, $59.95 for 90, $159.95 for 300 and $299 for 600. Each plan prints the price of an extra call.

They also split features differently. Upfirst lists calendar booking, warm transfers and in-call texting on every plan. Rosie's $49 plan sends appointment links by text, and booking straight onto your calendar and live transfers start on its $149 Scale plan.

Rosie suits a business with many short calls, because 250 minutes stretches a long way when calls are brief. Upfirst suits a business with fewer, longer calls that wants booking from the first plan and a printed overage rate. Both pricing pages were read in September 2026.

What each of Rosie's three plans adds

Rosie's Professional plan is $49 a month for 250 minutes. It answers 24/7, takes custom messages for two scenarios, detects spam and adds a chat widget to your website. It sends callers an appointment link by text rather than booking the slot itself.

Scale, at $149 for 1,000 minutes, is where Rosie books appointments directly on your calendar. It also adds warm transfers, where Rosie briefs your team before connecting, live transfers and texts to callers during the call.

Growth, at $299 for 2,000 minutes, adds waterfall transfers that try several numbers until someone answers. You also get custom training from your own documents, white-glove onboarding and priority support. Rosie doesn't print an overage rate for any plan.

What Upfirst puts on every plan

Upfirst keeps one feature list across its tiers and changes only the call count. Every plan includes 24/7 answering, call summaries by text or email, recordings and transcripts, warm transfers and in-call texting. Calendar booking works with Google, Outlook, Clio, Acuity and Calendly.

It also lists spam blocking, a Zapier connection and caller recognition. Pro and Scale add white-glove onboarding and custom integrations.

Each plan prints its overage: $1.50 a call on Starter, $1.00 on Premium, $0.75 on Pro and $0.70 on Scale. Above 600 calls a month, Upfirst moves you to custom volume pricing.

Where the two meters cross

Minutes against calls comes down to your average call length. Say your calls run two minutes. Rosie's 250 minutes covers about 125 calls for $49, while 125 calls on Upfirst means Premium plus overage, or Pro at $159.95.

Now say they run six minutes, as quote calls often do. Rosie's 250 minutes covers about 40 calls. Upfirst's $59.95 Premium plan covers 90, with booking included.

Booking changes the sum too. If you need Rosie to write appointments into your calendar, your starting point is $149, not $49. Put that price beside the Upfirst plan that fits your call count.

Spam, trials and getting started

Upfirst says it detects and blocks spam, telemarketing and political robocalls so they never count against your plan. Rosie lists automatic spam detection on every plan.

Upfirst's trial runs 14 days with full access and no card, and you forward your existing number with no porting. Rosie's trial is seven days, and you can cancel anytime. Both connect to Zapier.

Where GreetKeeper fits

Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product, and this section is the only place it appears. It counts answered calls like Upfirst and includes calendar booking on every plan, starting at $49 a month for 200 calls.

Professional is $149 for 750 calls and Scale is $349 for 2,000. Past the allowance, a call costs $0.45, $0.35 or $0.25. Screened robocalls and very short calls don't count toward the plan.

Bookings go straight into Google Calendar or Outlook, and GreetKeeper reads the name, number and time back first. The caller then gets one text with the confirmation, and a reply with the opt-out word stops further texts. If a transfer isn't picked up, it tries a second number you nominate.

Every plan includes a dedicated local number and no setup fee. A 14-day free trial with every feature on starts without a card.
