How to forward Google Fi calls to GreetKeeper

Google Fi keeps forwarding inside the Fi app and fi.google.com. Two settings do the work, and you flip between them in seconds.

The four forwarding modes on Google Fi

Google Fi's help page lists three choices: Don't forward, Ring all numbers and Always forward. Always forward sends every call to one number while your Fi phone stays silent. It's the setting you switch on for any stretch GreetKeeper should cover.

ModeGoogle Fi settingWhen to switch it on
All callsAlways forwardDays off, shoots, site visits, any day you won't touch the phone
BusyAlways forwardBack-to-back client calls, when a second caller would otherwise hear voicemail
No answerAlways forwardThe hours you're working with your hands, then Don't forward when you're free
UnreachableAlways forwardBefore a flight, a hike or a basement job with no signal

Ring all numbers rings your Fi phone and one or more added numbers at the same time. Always forward takes a single number. You change the choice under the Home tab, then Phone settings, then Call forwarding, and click Save.

Settings read on Google Fi Wireless Help, Call forwarding & caller ID, https://support.google.com/fi/answer/6201380, on 24 September 2026.

Set up forwarding on Google Fi

Five steps, from copying the number to switching it off again.

  1. Copy your GreetKeeper number

Open GreetKeeper on your phone and copy the local number. You'll paste it into the Fi app in the next step.

  2. Open Call forwarding in Google Fi

Use the Fi app or fi.google.com, never the phone's own call settings. Google's page is clear that Fi forwarding is set there. Go to Home, then Phone settings, then Call forwarding.

  3. Add and verify the number

Tap Add a number, paste your GreetKeeper number, and follow Fi's on-screen verification. Fi offers a text or a verify-by-call option.

  4. Choose Always forward and save

Select Always forward, pick the GreetKeeper number and click Save. Then ring your Fi number from a friend's phone and check the transcript and summary.

  5. Switch back to Don't forward

When you're free to answer again, choose Don't forward and save. The GreetKeeper number stays on your Fi list, ready for the next time.

Running a one-person business on Google Fi

Picture a wedding photographer on a Pixel with Google Fi. Saturdays are eight hours behind a camera, so Always forward goes on at 9am. Couples calling about next summer get their date, venue and package questions taken, and the photographer reads every summary during the drive home.

A handyman with a drill in hand can live on a simple routine. It's Always forward while on a job, and Don't forward at lunch. The Fi app sits on the home screen, and each switch takes two taps and a Save.

Flying to a trade show is the unreachable case. Switch on Always forward before boarding, and callers hear your greeting instead of a voicemail box you won't check for hours.

Ring all numbers suits the days you want to watch calls arrive. Your Fi phone rings alongside GreetKeeper, and GreetKeeper answers the moment the call arrives, so you see who called and read what they wanted afterwards.

Google Fi rules that differ from other carriers

Your phone's own forwarding menu isn't the place. Google's help page says Fi forwarding must be set on fi.google.com or in the Fi app, and that applies to Pixels and iPhones alike.

Every forwarding number is verified before it works. Keep your GreetKeeper account open in another tab while you add it, so you can finish Fi's check in one go.

Always forward takes one number, while Ring all numbers takes several. If a business partner is on your list too, use Ring all numbers for shared days and Always forward for GreetKeeper-only days.

Remove a number with the pencil icon next to it. Fi keeps the others, so taking a partner off never touches your GreetKeeper forward.

Google Fi forwarding questions

Why can't I set call forwarding in my phone's settings on Google Fi?

Google Fi handles forwarding in its own app and on fi.google.com. Google's help page says it must be set there, not in the Android or iPhone call settings.

What is the difference between Ring all numbers and Always forward on Fi?

Ring all numbers rings your Fi phone and every selected number at the same time. Always forward sends each call to one number, and your Fi phone doesn't ring.

Can I forward my Google Fi calls to more than one number?

Yes, with Ring all numbers, which can ring one or more added numbers together with your phone. Always forward sends to a single number, such as your GreetKeeper line.

What happens to a caller after GreetKeeper answers my Fi number?

The caller gets one SMS with the booking link or the booking confirmation, and a reply with the opt-out word stops further texts. You get a transcript and a short summary of the call.
