GreetKeeper vs Goodcall

Goodcall counts unique customers and lets them talk as long as they like. We count answered calls. Both models spare you the minute meter, so this comparison turns on a question only your own phone records can settle: how often does the same person call you twice in a month?

Why people move off Goodcall

One vendor's specific wall, not a general complaint about the category.

The per-agent structure is the usual reason. Goodcall prices per phone number, so the shop that adds a dedicated service line or a second branch discovers it's now paying two subscriptions rather than growing into one plan. The other reason is the unique-customer count itself. It's a genuinely good idea, and it's also harder to reconcile against your phone bill than a call count, so budgeting a busy month takes more arithmetic than anyone wants to do.

Where we differ

The right-hand column is the honest one. A comparison that finds no fault with itself is worth nothing.

What GreetKeeper does differently

  • Their pricing is per phone number, so a second line is a second agent to pay for.
  • A caller who rings twice about different jobs is one unit for them and two for us. On low-repeat trades that favors us; on high-repeat ones it favors them.
  • We count answered calls, which is easier to reconcile against a phone bill than unique-customer counting.

What you give up leaving Goodcall

  • Unique-caller pricing with uncapped minutes is the strongest answer to the minute meter, and it beats per-call billing for customers who ring repeatedly.
  • They publish their overage rate, which most of this category does not.
  • A large home-services content library and real depth in that vertical.

What a busy month costs on each meter

The headline price tells you about a quiet month. This is the other one.

Goodcall is $79 for 100 unique customers, $129 for 250 and $249 for 500, with $0.50 for each extra unique customer and uncapped minutes throughout. Credit where it's due: they publish that $0.50, which most of this category refuses to do. The catch is the multiplier. Three phone numbers means three agents, so the effective floor is $237 before a single extra caller. Our $49, $149 and $349 plans count answered calls across your account rather than per line.

PlanMonthlyCalls includedAfter that
StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time.$49200$0.45 per call
ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on.$149750$0.35 per call
ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours.$3492,000$0.25 per call

Moving off Goodcall in practice

The technical part is a forwarding change. The rest is the part nobody warns you about.

You'll be untangling the agents. Goodcall gives each number its own agent with its own configuration, so a shop with a sales line and a service line has two sets of answers, hours and routing rules that drifted apart over time. Export both, decide which version you actually meant, and write one script. Consolidating numbers onto one configuration is most of the work, and it's worth doing whoever answers your phone afterwards.

What we cannot show you

Questions people ask about this comparison

Unique customers or answered calls. Which is cheaper for me?

Count how many of last month's calls came from a number you'd already heard from. If repeat callers are more than about a third of your volume, Goodcall's model wins. If most calls are new inquiries, ours does. It really is that mechanical.

Goodcall has uncapped minutes. Do you meter call length?

No. We count the answered call, not the minutes inside it, so a long conversation costs you the same as a short one. On call length the two of us are even. The difference shows up when your customer calls back.

I have three phone numbers. What does each of you charge?

Goodcall prices per agent and each number is an agent, so three numbers is three subscriptions. Our plans count answered calls across your account, so three numbers share one allowance. Check our multi-location terms if the numbers sit at different sites.

Run a repeat caller through it

Same customer, second job. That's the call your whole comparison turns on.
