Smith.ai vs My AI Front Desk
Smith.ai and My AI Front Desk both answer your phone with AI, and they're built around different promises. Smith.ai bills per answered call and can pass a caller to its live receptionists, based in North America. Its Pro plan is $150 a month for 75 to 300 calls, at $2.00 to $2.17 a call. My AI Front Desk bills voice by the minute inside a bundle. For $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, you get 200 minutes plus web chat, two-way texting, a CRM and automations.
The deciding question is what you want around the phone. If you want a person behind the AI and one clear per-call price, that's Smith.ai's model. If you want your calls, chats and texts handled by one system with its own CRM, that's the My AI Front Desk bundle.
Smith.ai suits a firm with fewer, higher-value calls, such as intake for a law office, where human backup matters. My AI Front Desk suits a small business that wants several channels covered on a low monthly figure and can budget voice in minutes. Both pages were read in September 2026.

Smith.ai prices each call and backs it with people
Smith.ai's free plan gives you 25 calls a month, then charges $3.00 a call. Pro is $150 a month and covers 75 to 300 calls, with the per-call rate falling from $2.17 to $2.00 as you commit to more. Enterprise starts at $500 a month for 300 to 1,000 or more calls, at $1.60 to $1.67 each.
Every answered call counts toward the quota by default. Smith.ai blocks spam and robocalls automatically, and you can remove up to 10% of a month's calls as spam. When a call needs a human, it transfers to Smith.ai's live receptionists in North America.
Pro adds dedicated onboarding, live support and custom SMS branding. Enterprise adds full-service setup, custom AI prompting, unlimited custom integrations, multi-location support and a success manager. Named integrations include Clio, Zapier and Calendly.
My AI Front Desk bundles the front office
My AI Front Desk sells one main plan. For $99 a month you get 200 voice minutes, 100 chatbot conversations, 400 text messages and 1,000 overage credits. Billed annually, it's $79 a month.
Past 200 minutes, a voice minute draws 25 credits from your pool, and auto-reload refills the pool when it runs low. Partner and Enterprise plans are custom, and their voice overage can drop to seven credits a minute.
The bundle also carries its own CRM and sequence automations and connects to Zapier. You can start a seven-day trial with no card.
A law office and a salon, priced both ways
A two-lawyer office takes 120 intake calls a month, averaging six minutes. On Smith.ai that's 120 calls inside the Pro range, and the minutes don't matter. On My AI Front Desk it's 720 minutes, so 520 of them draw credits past the plan.
A salon takes 180 calls a month, but most are one-minute rebookings. That's about 180 minutes, inside My AI Front Desk's 200, with chat and texting on top. On Smith.ai, the same 180 calls sit in the Pro range, and each one counts at the tier's per-call rate.
Your own call log decides it. Average length favours per-call billing when it's long and per-minute billing when it's short.
Where GreetKeeper fits
Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product, and it's mentioned only in this section. Like Smith.ai it bills per answered call, and its rates are printed at every size: $49 for 200 calls, $149 for 750, $349 for 2,000.
A call past the allowance costs $0.45, $0.35 or $0.25 by plan. Robocalls and spam calls are screened out before the greeting, and they don't count toward the plan. Neither do very short calls.
Booking into Google Calendar or Outlook is on every plan. When a caller asks for a person, GreetKeeper transfers to your own team and tries a second number if the first doesn't pick up. After the call, the caller gets one text with the booking link or confirmation.
You get a dedicated local number and no setup fee, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, all features on and no card.
| Plan | Monthly | Calls included | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| StarterFor a single location taking calls one line at a time. | $49 | 200 | $0.45 per call |
| ProfessionalBooking, routing and transfers included, not an add-on. | $149 | 750 | $0.35 per call |
| ScaleFor busy phones and longer opening hours. | $349 | 2,000 | $0.25 per call |
