Is AnswerConnect legit? What its own terms say
Yes. AnswerConnect is a real, operating live answering service. Its terms of service name the company as AnywhereWorks, Inc. dba AnswerConnect, under North Carolina law. People answer calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. What deserves your attention is the fine print: a 90-day minimum term and billing in whole minutes, rounded up.
Searches for AnswerConnect reviews usually come from someone weighing a quote. So we skipped star ratings and read what AnswerConnect publishes about itself on 24 September 2026: the terms of service, the About page and the billing articles in its help centre. Each rule below comes from one of those pages.
What AnswerConnect charges
AnswerConnect's price list sits behind a quote form, so you'll learn the rate on a sales call. How you're billed is public, though. The terms of service charge whole minutes, rounded up. Hold time and time spent patching a call through both count. The help centre adds after-call work, the time a receptionist spends writing up your message.
| Plan | Monthly | Included | Per call |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minute plans | Not published; quoted after a form | A set number of minutes each month | Extra minutes at your plan's overage rate |
| Short calls | No charge | The first 30 calls under 30 seconds each billing cycle | Short calls past 30 count toward the bill |
| Unused minutes | Lost at cycle end | Minutes don't roll over | Not applicable |

What AnswerConnect's receptionists do on a call
AnswerConnect receptionists follow a script built for your account. It opens with your greeting, then a decision tree that shows them the right questions as the caller talks. You can set different instructions for evenings, weekends and holidays, and repeat callers can be greeted by name.
Calls can be passed on in four ways: cold transfer, warm transfer, hot transfer or live relay. In a hot transfer, the receptionist briefs you and stays on the line to introduce the caller.
For booking, you share the link to your own scheduling tool, or you use Setmore, which AnswerConnect offers. Call recording is off by default, and you can switch it on per number at no extra charge.
Your first week with AnswerConnect, step by step
AnswerConnect's help centre sets out what happens from sign-up to the first answered call. Here's that path in order. It comes from AnswerConnect's own articles, not from a trial we ran.
Service goes live at sign-up
AnswerConnect says your service is live straight away, with a basic message-taking script. That script can be ready in as little as five minutes, and you get a number when the account is created.
An onboarding call shapes the script
A one-to-one setup call tailors the greeting and call flow to your business. Most of the work is done during that call, with the rest finished soon after.
Calls are answered within a few rings
AnswerConnect aims to pick up within 2 to 3 rings. It says delays at peak times happen but are rare.
The message reaches you
Messages go to the email on your account and to the AnswerConnect desktop and mobile apps.
Spam callers get reported and blocked
You flag an unwanted number from the call message in your inbox. AnswerConnect's team reviews it and adds it to a block list.

Where AnswerConnect's model fits
A business that wants a person on every call, at any hour, gets that. AnswerConnect's About page promises real people 365 days a year, with no voicemail and no phone menus.
Firms that need a careful handoff get four transfer types to choose from. The hot transfer, with a live introduction, is built for high-value or sensitive calls.
Owners comfortable with a quoted price and a 90-day first term fit the contract as written. After those 90 days, either side can end it with written notice.
GreetKeeper's rules, printed before you sign
Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product. Every GreetKeeper price is on the pricing page. Starter is $49 a month for 200 answered calls, Professional is $149 for 750, and Scale is $349 for 2,000.
You pay by the answered call. A call that runs long counts once, so nothing is rounded up to the next minute. Very short calls, robocalls and screened spam never count toward your plan.
Past your allowance, each call costs $0.45, $0.35 or $0.25 by plan. There's no setup fee, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with every feature on and no card.
GreetKeeper answers calls that arrive together at the same time, so nobody waits in a queue. Every call arrives as a transcript and a short summary.
Questions people ask about AnswerConnect
Is AnswerConnect a real company?
Yes. AnswerConnect's terms of service name AnywhereWorks, Inc. dba AnswerConnect as the company you contract with. The agreement is governed by North Carolina law, and disputes go to arbitration in North Carolina.
Does AnswerConnect have a contract?
Its homepage says no fixed contract. Its terms of service, read in September 2026, set a minimum period of 90 calendar days. After that the agreement runs month to month, and either side can end it with written notice.
How does AnswerConnect round call minutes?
Up to the next whole minute. The terms say partial minutes round up, and billable time includes hold time and transfers. The help centre adds after-call work, but the first 30 calls under 30 seconds each cycle are free.
Do unused AnswerConnect minutes roll over?
No. AnswerConnect's help centre says unused minutes don't carry into the next billing cycle. Extra minutes are charged at your plan's overage rate, and a large overage balance can be charged before the cycle ends.
Why doesn't AnswerConnect show prices?
AnswerConnect sells through a quote form, so plan prices aren't on its site. Ask for the minute bundle, the overage rate and any setup fee in writing before the 90-day minimum starts.
