My AI Front Desk review: a phone line inside a bigger bundle

My AI Front Desk, now branded Frontdesk AI, sells one self-serve plan that answers your phone: Business-in-a-Box at $99 a month, or $79 billed annually. It includes 200 voice minutes plus web chat, two-way SMS, a built-in CRM and follow-up automations. Extra voice time is paid from a credit pool.

You'll find more on this vendor's pricing page than on most. It lists a monthly allowance for voice, texts, chats, emails, forms and outbound calls, then a credit price for going over each one. We read that page and the homepage on 24 September 2026, and this review works from them.

What My AI Front Desk charges

Business-in-a-Box meters your phone line by the voice minute. Once your 200 minutes are used, each extra minute takes 25 credits, and a credit costs $0.01. The plan comes with 1,000 overage credits each month, and those expire monthly. When the pool runs dry, auto-reload adds 1,000 credits for $10, and bought credits carry over with no end date.

What sits beside the phone in Business-in-a-Box

Your phone line is one channel of several. Each month the plan includes 200 voice minutes, 400 texts, 100 website chat conversations, 300 form submissions, 500 drafted emails and up to 20 outbound calls a day. Sequence automations are unlimited.

The assistant draws on a knowledge base of up to 20 pages. It gets two of each agent action, such as transferring a call, sending a text or pushing data to another app, and alerts can go to 3 people on your team.

Every conversation lands in Frontdesk's own CRM, and Zapier plus API access connect it to other tools. The plan includes 2 editor seats and unlimited view-only seats, and keeps your last 200 logs.

How a forwarded call reaches My AI Front Desk

The homepage FAQ explains the flow in plain steps, and a product demo shows the assistant qualifying a lead and booking it. Here's that flow as one inbound call. It's drawn from the vendor's own published material, not from a call we made.

  1. You build the assistant from your website

Enter your website address or describe your business, and Frontdesk drafts the receptionist. It says this takes less than 5 minutes, and you can go live the same day on a forwarded number.

  2. Your existing number forwards to Frontdesk

Customers keep dialling the number they know. Frontdesk answers in a natural voice and follows the instructions you wrote.

  3. Questions are answered from the knowledge base

The assistant looks up your business details in the knowledge base you supplied, then qualifies the caller as a lead.

  4. The appointment goes on your live calendar

It books against your live calendar and writes the call into the CRM. A text with a link or directions can follow from your SMS allowance.

  5. Hard cases are escalated with a transcript

When the assistant can't handle a case, it passes it to a person on your team with the full transcript. You set the escalation rules and who gets notified.

Who gets the most from Frontdesk's bundle

A small business that has no CRM, no website chat and no texting tool yet gets all three in one bill, set up from one screen.

Owners who want the AI to follow up on its own will use the sequence automations: a text to a new lead, then an email the next day if nobody replies.

Firms handling 25 or more interactions a day are pointed to Partner and Enterprise. Those plans add volume pricing, API access, custom integrations and white-glove onboarding.

GreetKeeper counts calls where Frontdesk counts minutes

Disclosure: GreetKeeper is our product, and it's a phone receptionist first. Starter is $49 a month for 200 answered calls. A ten-minute call counts once, the same as a one-minute call. Professional holds 750 calls for $149, and Scale holds 2,000 for $349.

Past your allowance, you pay a printed rate per call: $0.45, $0.35 or $0.25 by plan. Robocalls, spam and very short calls never count toward it.

Your CRM stays the one you already run. A signed webhook posts the caller's details, intake answers and summary after every call. Booking into Google Calendar or Outlook is on every plan, and GreetKeeper reads the name, number and time back before it books.

After the call, your caller gets one text with the booking link or confirmation. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, all features on and no card.
